Four arrests after three injured in stabbings
GoogleFour people have been arrested after three were injured in unconnected stabbings in Nottingham.
Nottinghamshire Police said two 16-year-old boys suffered stab wounds during a disturbance at a house in Eardley Road, Bestwood, shortly before 21:00 GMT on Sunday.
A 16-year-old boy and two girls, 14 and 15, were arrested on suspicion of affray.
Later the same evening, police attended Chippenham Road, in Bestwood Park, following reports of three men fighting in the street with weapons. A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray.
Police said the two 16‑year‑old boys were taken to the Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) for treatment to a stab wound to the leg and an arm injury. After the second incident, a man was also taken to the QMC with injuries that are not considered life‑altering or life‑threatening.
A cordon remains in place in Chippenham Road while investigations take place.
Police said detectives were satisfied the stabbings were not linked and that there was no wider threat to the public.
Det Insp Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We know incidents like these cause great concern to our communities, and we take them extremely seriously.
"I'd like to reassure people that we have a large team investigating both incidents and we have increased reassurance patrols in the area while our inquiries continue. If anyone has any concerns, we'd encourage them to speak to one of our officers."
