Convoy of 60 Porsches park up for boss's funeral

A convoy of 60 luxury Porsches were driven to the funeral of a popular businessman.

Adam Reason, who ran Reason Porsche in Crowfield, near Ipswich, died with motor neurone disease on 19 July.

He had asked friends if they would honour him with the convoy and Emma Jackson, regional organiser for Porsche Club Great Britain, helped ensure his wishes came true at the funeral in Bury St Edmunds.

"When you met Adam, you were instant friends, you felt like you had known him for a long time," said Mrs Jackson.

"He was just the warmest person, and I think we have done him proud."

About 450 people turned out to Mr Reason's funeral.

A JustGiving page was set up in his memory to raise money for St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich who supported him and his family.

Jon Turner, who said he had been friends with Mr Reason for about 30 years, said: "It was a marvellous service full of love for a man who deserved all of that love."

Alison Garnham, from Ipswich, who is part of the Porsche club, said buying a car from Mr Reason had helped with her anxiety and "changed my life".

"We are now on our second [car] from Adam's garage, and have new friends - a new social life," she added.

Talking about the convoy, she said: "It just goes to show how special of a man he was and how we all love his family.

"There is nowhere else I would be today."
