Man in critical condition after pub attack
GoogleOne person has been arrested after a 66-year-old man was left in a critical condition following an assault at a pub.
Leicestershire Police said the man was involved in a disagreement with outside The Crown Inn in Church Street, Appleby Magna, just after 21:45 GMT on Sunday.
He was then punched and taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham where he is being treated for a serious head injury.
A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Section 20 Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) and released on bail pending further inquiries.
Det Con Peter Stacey said: "If you were in Church Street on Sunday evening and witnessed what happened, we need to speak to you.
"The victim's injuries are extremely serious and we need to speak to anyone who can help us piece together what happened that evening."
