Police say the crash happened on the A1079 between Wilberfoss and Barmby Moor

A teenage driver has suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash involving two cars and a van, which also left another person seriously injured.

Humberside Police said the 18-year-old woman was hurt when the black Mini Cooper she was driving collided with a blue Ford Focus and a grey Renault Master.

The force said the crash happened at about 18:55 GMT on Friday on the A1079 between Wilberfoss and Barmby Moor near York.

A police spokesperson said the driver of the Renault, a 27-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers investigating the crash have asked anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision, or anyone with dashcam footage, to come forward.
