The charitable arm of Boardmasters festival has partnered with another charity to manage its grants.

Boardmasters Foundation said the arrangement with Cornwall Community Foundation was a "significant step forward" in its aim to support local groups.

It said the foundation would manage its grant programme and provide "expert knowledge, robust governance and established connections with grassroots organisations".

Boardmasters said more than £120,000 was raised for local groups this year.

As part of the deal, Cornwall Community Foundation will manage aspects of the programme including marketing, workshops to support applicants as well as monitoring reports to ensure objectives are met.

Rob Spring, festival director of Boardmasters, said: "By working with Cornwall Community Foundation, we can ensure our funding has even greater impact, reaching the grassroots organisations and initiatives that truly make a difference to local people's lives."

Tamara Sherston-Baker, development director at Cornwall Community Foundation, added: "Our experience in grant-making and deep connections with local groups mean we can ensure funding reaches those who need it most."
