A community centre is to get new facilities after plans were approved by the local council.

Grangetown Youth and Community Centre will see four temporary cabins installed offering changing rooms for home and away teams, space for officials and one for refreshments.

The planning application includes proposals for fencing and gates, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

Last year, Redcar and Cleveland councillors approved plans, backed by Sport England, to create an artificial sports pitch and floodlighting at the centre in Grange Farm Road.

A council report said of the latest application: "Due to the temporary nature of the cabins, a condition is recommended to ensure they are removed after five years, or further consent is sought to ensure the external appearance remains acceptable."
