Gardaí still to identify man in critical condition after Dublin attack

Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a man left in a critical condition following an attack in Dublin's Temple Bar.

An Garda Síochána (Irish police) said the man was brought to Beaumont Hospital after the assault which occurred at Cope Street on Wednesday at about 00:30 local time.

Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested on Friday evening in connection with the investigation.

Gardaí said the victim has a tattoo on the inside of his right forearm. The tattoo is described as a blue and white flag with the words 'Ceol is Beatha', meaning 'music is life'.

An Garda Síochána have released an image of the victim's tattoo in an effort to identify the male

Anyone who was in the area of Cope Street between midnight and 01:00 local time on Wednesday and who has any information about the incident have been asked to contact gardaí.

They have asked anyone with camera footage to make it available.
