Pedestrian dies after fatal incident in Devon

A woman aged in her 20s has died after an incident in Devon, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were "in attendance at a fatal incident involving a pedestrian" in a section of the A38 at Chudleigh Knighton at 22:40 BST on Saturday.

The road was closed until about 12:30pm on Sunday.

A local woman in her 20s died at the scene and her next of kind have been informed, officers said.

The force said an investigation was under way and anyone with information was asked to contact police.

Officers have not said if a vehicle was involved.
