Rainbow makeover for tram ahead of Pride

One of Nottingham's trams is being given a special paintjob as part of the city's Pride festival celebrations.

Train firm Alstom said it had collaborated with East Midlands Railway and Nottingham Express Transit to give Tram 213 a "trambow".

Peter Broadley, its services managing director, said the redesign "is a statement of our collective commitment to diversity, inclusion and the right of every individual to be their authentic self – either as a fare-paying passenger or a colleague".

Notts Pride takes place on 27 July.

As well as celebrating Pride, Mr Broadley said the painting work would "also promote a more inclusive public transport system across the East Midlands and beyond".
