Train firm seeks name for office cat
NorthernA train company has asked the public to help choose a name for a stray cat who "has become part of the team".
The creature, who is referred to as "The Cat", wandered into Northern's Barrow-in-Furness office two years ago and has stayed with them ever since.
The team have bought two beds for her and routinely chip in for cat food and vet bills, Northern said.
People are being asked to vote from a shortlist of four names - Mooch, Birdie, Sassy and Debbie - on Northern's Instagram.
"The Cat" spends her days chasing mice and sleeping at the TrainCare Centre, which is open 24 hours a day.
After a vote, the winning name will be announced at 12:00 BST on Friday, Northern said.

Northern said "everyone looks after her", and that drivers even come to the office to bring her food.
Neil Cornforth, a senior team leader for Northern, said: "She’s a cracking little cat and she’s really friendly.
"She catches mice around the place and there are a few other cats who try and infiltrate the depot, but she keeps them away because she knows she’s got a good thing here."
NorthernThe team in Barrow came up with a dozen names before drawing four out of the hat.
Mr Cornforth said: "We’re looking forward to finding out which one people prefer."
