Man sustains life-threatening injuries in crash

A man has suffered life-threatening injuries following a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Castleford.

The incident took place on Watling Road at about 19:30 GMT on Tuesday evening, West Yorkshire Police said.

Officers said two men on the motorcycle - a rider and a passenger - both sustained serious injuries when the vehicle collided with a silver Toyota Auris.

One suffered head and spinal injuries, which have been described as life-threatening, while the other suffered potentally life-changing injuries to the leg.

Police have urged witnesses, particularly anyone with footage of the incident, to come forward.
