Boy, 15, charged after police chase stolen car on Edinburgh's Princes Street

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested following a police chase involving a stolen car In Edinburgh.

The teenager, who was driving the vehicle, made off from the scene on Princes Street at about 04:00 on Tuesday after a "short pursuit" but was later captured by officers.

He was charged with a number of road traffic offences and the road remained closed until about 05:40 with buses and trams diverted.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said he would be reported to the relevant authorities and inquiries were ongoing.
