A cyclist has been left with life-changing injuries following a collision with a car which left the scene before police arrived.

Bedfordshire Police officers were called at about 11:30 GMT to reports a car had collided with a pushbike on Sutton Lane in Dunton, near Biggleswade.

The cyclist, a man in his 60s, was taken to hospital.

"If you saw anything, stopped to help, or have CCTV or dashcam footage, please come forward," said Det Sgt Shona Birkby, from Bedfordshire Police.

"This was a serious incident that has left a man needing hospital treatment.

"We know someone out there has information that could help us piece together what happened."
