Two men jailed after gun and cash seized from car

Two men have been jailed after a gun was seized from a car.

Officers pulled over a Skoda near the Goldthorn Hill area of Wolverhampton and found the firearm in a carrier bag on the back seat, seven rounds of ammunition and £1,000 in cash were also found during searches.

The car's occupants, Omari Johnson-Thomas, 24, of Orchard Lane, Bilbrook, and Tyreique Hislop, 22, of New Meadow Road, Telford, both pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm and Hislop also admitted possessing ammunition.

At Wolverhampton Crown Court on 27 January, they were each sentenced to spend five years in prison.
