Craig Berridge has been jailed for four years.

A "dangerous man" who fired a shotgun at a house in Rotherham has been jailed.

Craig Berridge opened fire at the property in Dawson Road on in November 2024, having previously threatened the owner that he would "shoot the lot of you", according to South Yorkshire Police.

The 46-year-old, of Grange Road in Rawmarsh, admitted possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, possessing a knife in a public place and affray.

He was jailed at Sheffield Crown Court for four years and told he would serve an additional four years on licence on release.

The force said Berridge was arrested on 25 November 2024 at about 18:20 GMT, just over two hours after the incident, having been caught on CCTV.

Security footage also caught an earlier incident in which he was "clearly pictured making threats" to the occupants, police said.

Det Insp Claire Moss said: "Craig Berridge is a dangerous man.

"He took a firearm and with no thought for anyone else's safety discharged it at a property before casually walking away like nothing had happened."

Encouraging people with concerns about gun crime in their area to get in touch with police, Moss said working with local communities was "vital".

"We know some of you may not wish to be associated with the police – but you can still play your part," she added.
