Man pleads guilty to kidnap bid at park splash pad

A man has admitted attempted kidnap at a children's water park in Cardiff.

Moynul Janu, 34, was arrested outside the free to use "splash pad" in the city's Victoria Park in July 2025.

Police reported a number of calls from members of the public worried about a man's behaviour.

People were concerned the man had been secretly recording children in the park but no devices were found on Janu when he was arrested.

He was later charged with three counts of attempted kidnap and pleaded guilty to the offences.

Janu, of no fixed address, will be sentenced on 31 March at Cardiff Crown Court and was remanded in custody.
