Two churches damaged during burglaries over Christmas period

Two churches in Newtownhamilton, County Armagh, were burgled over the Christmas period.

Police said the burglaries happened sometime between 15:00 GMT on 25 December and 09:00 26 December to churches on Dundalk Street and Castleblayney Street.

Damage was caused to both churches with a number of items stolen, including electronic speakers and a wall clock.

Police said they have increased patrols in the area and are asking for anyone with information to contact them.
