Murder arrests after man, 18, found near hospital dies
Lewis TellingFive people have been arrested as part of a murder investigation following the death of an 18-year-old found injured near a hospital.
Dorset Police said the man was discovered in Longfleet Road near Poole Hospital shortly before 02:15 BST. He was taken into the hospital for treatment to a suspected stab wound but died a short time later.
A 20-year-old man from Poole and two men from Bournemouth – aged 36 and 38 – have been arrested on suspicion of murder. A 22-year-old man from London and a 22-year-old man of Bletchley in Buckinghamshire have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All five remain in police custody.
The force said the victim may have sustained his injuries during an incident in Dale Close, where a cordon remains in place, before he was taken to Longfleet Road in a car.
Det Supt Neil Third said: "We have informed the victim's family of these latest developments and our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time.
"We do not underestimate the concern and upset that an incident of this nature will have in the community.
"We would like to reassure that we have acted quickly in making arrests and progressing our investigation."
Witnesses and anyone who was in the Dale Close or Longfleet Road area in the early hours with dashcam or home CCTV footage are being urged to get in touch with police.
"We are grateful for everyone's support while the cordon is in place and officers are conducting their enquiries, it allows us to carry out a detailed investigation and seek justice for the victim's family," Det Supt Third added.
