A man has been arrested in connection with a suspected hit-and-run in Nottingham that left five people injured.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to Talbot Street at about 02:10 GMT on 12 February.

Three people were taken to hospital, and a force spokesperson said one man remained there with "injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering".

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily harm with intent on Wednesday, and has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Det Con Mitchell Thomas, who is leading the investigation, said: "This was an extremely serious offence where five members of the public were injured and we are doing everything we can to investigate the full circumstances and secure justice for the victims.

"Whilst we have made an arrest, our inquiries are very much ongoing and we are appealing to any taxi drivers who were operating in Talbot Street on that day, before, during or after this incident."
