Merseyside Police said it was aware a grandmother had been left feeling "terrified in her own home"

An 81-year-old was left feeling "terrified in her own home" after a group of youths gathered outside, her granddaughter has said.

She said a large group of students from Deyes High School came together outside her grandmother's house in Maghull at about 15:30 GMT on Wednesday.

The pensioner was left feeling distressed after one of the youths knocked on her door.

Merseyside Police said the young person demanded one of the house's occupants come outside.

The BBC has asked Deyes High School to comment.
