A man has died in a house fire, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to an address on Ropery Road, Gainsborough, at about 03:20 GMT on Sunday.

The man, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene and a joint investigation into the blaze had started, a spokesperson from Lincolnshire Police said.

"We are working closely with Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service to fully understand what happened, and the investigation is ongoing. Officers will remain on scene while inquiries continue," they added.
