Thameslink, LNER and Great Northern services are affected by the cable theft

Train passengers face disruption throughout rush hour after signalling cables were stolen.

National Rail said the cables were stolen from Hitchin in Hertfordshire on Wednesday night.

Services that travel between London and Peterborough and Royston, including LNER, Great Northern and Thameslink services, could be affected.

Disruption is expected until 11:00 BST, National Rail said.

Great Northern and Thameslink services that run through Hitchin also face disruption and passengers are advised to leave an extra 30 minutes for their journeys.
