A Ferrari car suffered major damage when it caught fire on the M1 motorway.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Stapleford and Long Eaton were called to the blaze on a slip road near junction 25 on Friday evening.

The driver and passenger were shaken but otherwise OK, the service added.

Emergency services closed the slip road for a period while they dealt with the blaze, but it has since reopened.

The service has not yet confirmed what caused the blaze.
