Getty ImagesA man has been charged after an investigation into the sale of fake number plates in Kent.
Police searched businesses in Northfleet and Higham on 14 August following a "proactive" investigation into reports that criminals could obtain fake identities for their vehicles.
George Cowley, 46, of Mountside Close, Gravesend, was arrested and later charged with conspiracy to steal vehicles and making an article, namely false vehicle registrations, knowing that it was to be designed or adapted in connection with fraud.
He is scheduled to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 12 September.
A second man, aged 26 and from Northfleet, was bailed while enquiries continue, Kent Police said.
