Two parents have been charged with the murder of their three-month-old son.

Police and paramedics were sent to an address in Kingsway in North Finchley, north London, at 11:34 GMT on 30 January following reports of an unresponsive baby.

The infant, referred to by police as Baby A, was taken to hospital with significant injuries but died on 17 February.

They were arrested on 30 January on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

On 2 February they were charged with causing or allowing serious physical harm to a child and appeared at Ealing Magistrates' Court, where they were remanded in custody.

Following the baby's death, they were charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child on 18 February.

They are due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Monday.
