A man died and two teenagers were seriously injured after a car crashed into wall.

The emergency services were called to the junction of Helmshore Road and Dean Road just before midnight on Monday in Haslingden, Lancashire.

The driver - a man in his 20s - suffered multiple injuries and later died in hospital.

Two female passengers, both aged 18, suffered severe injuries and are being treated in hospital.

Sgt Anthony Beckett, of the roads policing unit, said: "My thoughts first and foremost are very much with the family and loved ones of the driver who has very sadly passed away, and with the girls as they receive care and treatment in hospital.

"This was a collision with horrendous consequences and as we investigate what happened we are appealing to the public for assistance.

"If you witnessed the collision or have dashcam/CCTV/Doorbell footage, please get in touch with us."
