Police have appealed for dashcam footage after a man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Pleasley.

Officers were called to the A617, near to junction 29 of the M1, at about 21:50 GMT on Saturday after the crash involving a black BMW 3 Series M Sport and a black Audi A3.

Derbyshire Police said the driver of the BMW, a 33-year-old man, was taken to hospital with head injuries and died a short while later.

A woman, 32, and man, 31 - who were travelling in the Audi - sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries, the force added.

No-one has been arrested in connection with the crash.

Police said the man's family had been informed and were being supported by specialist officers, adding "our thoughts are with them at this difficult time".

A file has been prepared for the coroner.

Anyone who may have dashcam footage, which captured the BMW in the lead-up to the crash, has been urged to contact police.
