Jerry Hall to turn on town's Christmas lights
Getty ImagesActress and model Jerry Hall will turn on Henley-on-Thames' Christmas lights with the town's mayor and a competition winner.
Hall will be accompanied by mayor Tom Buckley and a Christmas card design winner at the event on 28 November as part of the Henley Christmas Festival, in Oxfordshire.
She said she is "thrilled" to be turning on the lights outside Henley's Town Hall and "seeing this wonderful town light up to herald in the Christmas season."
"It's going to be fun and I am looking forward to it very much," she added.
Fairground rides, food stalls and entertainment will be in place, ahead of other Christmas events taking place in the town, Henley Town Council said.
Its Shop under the Stars event, during which shops will stay open until 20:00, will be held on 5 December, while 10 Christmas market huts will be in place in Market Place from 4 December until 14 December.
The Santa on the Run event will be held on 14 December and start at the town's Leander Club.
