Man arrested over serious sexual assault
BBCA man has been arrested after a serious sexual assault in Plymouth, police have said.
Devon and Cornwall Police were called at about 04:00 GMT on Saturday, after a report of a woman having been sexually assaulted in the Mutley Plain area.
A man in his 20s from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of rape on Thursday and is currently in police custody.
Det Insp Katy Deer said specialist officers have been providing support to the victim.
She said: "We have arrested a male in connection with this incident and he is currently in custody assisting with our investigation.
"Our investigation is ongoing, and I would like to thank the local community for their support whilst we have carried out our enquiries over the past few days."
