Arrest after man dies in two-car crash

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink-driving following a crash in North Lincolnshire on Friday night, police have said.

Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a black Jaguar and a red Peugeot near the junction of High Street and Church Street, Messingham, at about 22:00 BST.

The dead man has been named by his family as 21-year-old Jac Sanderson. Mr Sanderson had been a passenger in the Peugeot, Humberside Police said.

The force said the arrested man, aged 22, remains in custody.

Two other male passengers in the Peugeot, aged 21 and 23, along with the 26-year-old driver of the Jaguar, suffered minor injuries.

Witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage of the crash is asked to contact police.
