Motorcyclist seriously injured after bus collision

The crash happened on Stradbroke Road in Sheffield

A man is being treated for life-threatening injuries after a crash between a motorcycle and a double-decker bus.

A 29-year-old man, who was thought to be riding the motorbike, was taken to hospital after the incident on Stradbroke Road, Sheffield, at 16:33 GMT on Saturday.

It is understood that the motorcyclist continued along Stradbroke Road after the collision before hitting a fence post near the junction with Bishop Hill.

South Yorkshire Police said the bus driver had remained at the scene and was cooperating with officers.

A force spokesperson has asked that anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam or CCTV footage to contact officers.
