An unattended package which triggered a bomb squad call-out was found to be a television in a box, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to Scotland Street, in Sheffield, at about 10:15 GMT, prompting the closure of Furnace Hill, Trinity Street, Cooper Street and West Bar.

South Yorkshire Police said the explosive ordnance disposal team attended the scene and carried out a controlled explosion in a safe location "as a precaution".

Following an inspection, officers now believe the package was a TV inside a box and confirmed all road closures had been lifted.
