A man in his 80s has died in a car crash near a National Trust property.

Norfolk Police said it was appealing for witnesses after a member of the public reported a car had hit a tree after leaving the B1354 Blickling Road, a route that passes in front of Blickling Hall near Aylsham, at about 10:35 GMT on Monday.

The blue Mitsubishi Colt car was travelling towards the village of Saxthorpe at the time.

Officers urged anyone who saw the car hitting the tree, the manner of driving beforehand, or had relevant dashcam footage to contact the force.

Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
