The fire service said 60 firefighters attended the scene

Firefighters have extinguished a "significant" grass fire across 400m of woodland.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service (DSFRS) was called to the blaze on Stockhill Woods in Priddy at about 17:30 GMT on Friday.

A total of 60 firefighters, 10 fire engines, specialist appliances, a drone and supporting officers were called to the scene to assist with the "arduous" conditions, a spokesperson for the fire service said.

The fire, which is believed to have started accidentally, was extinguished by 21:52, but three fire engines remained at the scene to check for hotspots, according to DSFRS.
