A burst water main has been reported in the east of Peterborough.

The pavement at the junction of Oxney Road and the exit to Frank Perkins Parkway had already been closed since Monday to allow for electrical works.

Greg Bird, who works in the area, said the leak was discovered early Friday morning, adding that part of the footpath leading towards the Perkins Engines site had remained closed.

Anglian Water said the team was working to resolve it.

The incident has added to the existing disruption in the area, and residents and commuters were advised to allow extra time for travel while repairs continue.
