Manhunt for wanted person in attempted murder investigation

Police are searching for a 57-year-old man who is wanted as part of an attempted murder investigation.

A woman is in a stable condition in hospital following an incident in Carmarthen Park, Carmarthenshire, on Thursday between 15:00 and 16:00 GMT.

Dyfed-Powys Police said James McKenna, from Carmarthen but known to have connections to Ireland, is wanted in connection with the incident.

Det Ch Supt Ross Evans said the force was "doing everything possible to locate James and bring the incident to a swift conclusion".

"Thank you to the local Carmarthen community for your patience and understanding while we continue to carry out our inquiries.

"Finally, to James, if you see this message I encourage you to make yourself known to us at the earliest opportunity so that this matter can be resolved swiftly."
