Police appeal after boy grabbed by man on road

A boy was reportedly grabbed on Monday morning in Aveley

Police are investigating reports that a boy was grabbed by a man on the street.

Essex Police said the suspect reportedly left in a car with another man after grabbing the boy on the arm.

They believe the incident happened on Monday at about 08:15 GMT, on the junction of Shannon Way and Monnow Road in Aveley.

Police have also investigated another alleged accosting on nearby Romford Road on Wednesday, but said "there was no evidence to support this".

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or information, including footage and dash cam video of the incident on Monday.

"The suspect reportedly left the area with another man in what has been described as a light coloured hatchback, with a small dent near the passenger-side brake light, travelling on Monnow Road," Essex Police said.

Its officers are carrying out CCTV inquiries and have also spoken to residents in the area.
