A man and woman who admit attacking another man at a Spalding hotel will be sentenced in January.

Leanne Thornton, 42, of Low Gate, Gosberton, and Danny Lodge, 24, of Bishops Way, London, were arrested after police were called to the Travelodge at the Springfields Outlet centre on 24 June.

The victim was taken to hospital but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing, Lincolnshire Police said.

Thornton and Lodge have admitted charges relating to the incident and have been remanded into custody until sentencing on 12 January.

They were listed before Judge Simon Hirst at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday.

Thornton has admitted a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm to the victim on 24 June this year.

Judge Hirst ordered the more serious charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent should be left to lie on file.

Lodge has pleaded guilty to the more serious offence of intending to cause grievous bodily harm to the victim on the same date.

He has also admitted two further charges of perverting the course of justice and assaulting an emergency worker.

Both defendants were warned that a jail sentence was "overwhelming likely."
