M1 reopens after being shut by 'police-led incident'
National HIgwaysThe M1 in Leicestershire has reopened after it was closed due to a "police-led incident".
Leicestershire Police said the motorway was shut in both directions at the Leicester Forest East services between junctions 21 and 21a on Saturday afternoon.
National Highways said other emergency services and its own officers were also on the scene "to assist with traffic management and strategic closures".
The road reopened shortly before 19:00 GMT but police warned the build up of traffic meant long tailbacks would take some time to clear.
No further details of the incident have yet been released.
