Murder probe after man shot in attack at tower block
Police ScotlandPolice have launched a murder investigation after a 26-year-old man was shot dead in a tower block in Motherwell.
Jordan Gray's body was found in a flat in Shields Court at 14:30 on Monday.
He is believed to have died between Sunday night and the early hours of Monday morning.
Police Scotland confirmed he suffered fatal injuries "consistent with being shot by a firearm".
Jordan's mother, Lynn Gray, said: "We as a family are devastated at the loss of Jordan. We would appreciate some privacy and time to grieve.
"If anyone has any information, please come forward."
Jordan's father, John Lindsay, said he was "a doting father and son".
Det Sup Grant Hendry, of the Major Investigation Team, said inquiries were ongoing and a team of specialist officers had been set up the investigate the murder.
He added: "We continue to ask for information on a person seen in the Shields Court area around 22:25 on Sunday night. They were wearing a dark jacket with the hood up and dark trousers.
"Anyone with information on this person is urged to contact the investigation team."
