A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in his 50s.

Suffolk Police was called by the ambulance service just before 20:00 GMT on Tuesday after a man suffered serious injuries in Lordscroft Lane, Haverhill.

He died a short time later.

A 61-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

The force said the man's death was unexplained but was being treated as suspicious.

It is thought the woman knew the man, and police said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place.
