Ninth person denies £1m protest damage
PA MediaA ninth person has denied breaking into a factory and causing £1 million of damage during a protest supporting Palestine Action.
Julija Brigadirova, from Manchester, pleaded not guilty at the Old Bailey on Friday to criminal damage, burglary with intent and violent disorder.
The 33-year-old and eight others allegedly filmed themselves breaking into Instro Precision in Sandwich, Kent early on 17 June 2024, before Palestine Action was proscribed as a terrorist group.
The other defendants denied the same charges at a hearing in October.
The group were accused of throwing stock to the ground and smashing computers with a crowbar after breaking into the premises at the Discovery Park industrial estate.
The other defendants are:
- Nasser Akhtar, 38, of Crystal Palace
- Elliot Wilson, 26, of Liverpool
- Maximillian Dixon, 30, of Brockley in south-east London
- Nirad Abrol, 26, of Birmingham
- Seirol Davies, 31, of Plymouth
- Xavi Davies, 22, of Binfield in Berkshire
- Eoin O'Meara, 35, of Bristol
- Hannah Davidson, 53, of Edinburgh
An eight-week trial is scheduled to begin on 5 October at the Old Bailey.
All defendants are on bail apart from Davidson and Brigadirova, who are in custody.
