Trains cancelled over repairs to broken track
PA MediaTrains travelling between Shrewsbury, Stafford, Wolverhampton and Birmingham have been cancelled or delayed due to repairs to a broken track.
West Midlands Railway services between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street were affected on Monday morning.
Passengers have been advised their tickets can be used on rail replacement journeys to Birmingham Snow Hill and through Telford Central in both directions.
National Rail said the disruption was expected to last until 09:30 GMT as urgent repairs were carried out on the track.
The rail operator said the broken track between Telford Central and Wolverhampton was blocking train lines travelling towards Wolverhampton.
Avanti West Coast trains travelling between Edinburgh and Birmingham New Street, Glasgow Central and Wolverhampton, and Lancaster to London Euston, have also been affected.
Customers are being advised to use tickets between Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone and the cross-country services between Stafford and Birmingham instead.
Transport for Wales trains between Holyhead and Birmingham International are also seeing delays.
A bus has been arranged to run between Birmingham New Street and Aberystwyth to help commuters complete journeys where possible, it said.
A speed restriction between Shrewsbury and Wellington is affecting Transport for Wales services.
