Road closes for seven weeks for resurfacing

Residents in the north of the Isle of Man have been warned of seven weeks of disruption during a resurfacing project.

The works on the A14 Clenagh Road, which runs between Lezayre and Jurby, are due to continue until 19 December.

The Department of Infrastructure (DOI) said the road would be closed to through traffic from just beyond its junctions with Kella Road and Old Sulby Road to Sandygate Crossroads.

Access to properties would be maintained "from one end of the road or the other", but would change for some homes as the project progressed, the department said.

The work has been designed to start where a previous project carried out in 2023 ended, but resurfacing all the way to Sandygate may not be possible within the latest designated closure.

The department said, if that were the case, it "currently intended to resume works in the new year".
