Music group for dads and kids at risk of closure
Chris BaileyA music group for children that provides a space for dads to bond is at risk of closure.
Charity Evolve Music hoped to raise £2,500 to save its Saturday morning Dads Rock group in Worle from closing, a music session for male caregivers and their children.
About 20-25 men attended the sessions for free but the charity was relying on donations to pay the professional musicians who run the group.
Annette Burghes, executive director of Evolve Music said: "It's really just a quite a rare opportunity for them to be in a space with other dads with the little ones and talk about their parenting role."
Chris Bailey"They're just really beautiful and uplifting sessions, they are rare spaces for dads to get together" Ms Burghes said.
"The impact of the sessions has really just blown us away, as a team, and I think for new dads, they're a lifeline.
"I think with dads there's such a limited opportunity for them to connect with other dads and I think that's really where the value of Dads Rock is. The longevity of the outcomes that are beyond what happens in the hour and a half session."
The charity has currently raised about £100.
