Firefighters have urged people to take care when driving in wet weather after they found a car stuck in about 4ft (1.2m) of flood water.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) said firefighters attended Land's End Ford in Charvil at about 18:20 GMT on Tuesday.

The car's driver had managed to get out of the vehicle themselves but it was stuck and crews from Wokingham and Wokingham Road put up tape to alert others to the risk.

RBFRS said water that is higher than a car's front bumper could be too dangerous to drive through and that the equivalent of an egg cup full of water could wreck an engine.
