Man charged with manslaughter after assault death

A man has been charged with manslaughter after the death of a man who was found unresponsive at his home on Christmas Eve.

Stephen Jedynak, 72, died in hospital on 27 December after being found at his home near Wakefield three days earlier.

Hamza Shafique, 27, of Maidstone Street in Bradford has been remanded in custody to appear before Leeds Magistrates' Court later.

Three other men, aged 23, 26 and 32, who were arrested on suspicion of murder and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, have been released on bail.
