Islanders advised on travel to Middle East
BBCJersey's chief minister says his thoughts are with those affected by events in the Middle East.
Lyndon Farnham said many islanders would have personal or professional connections to the region, and they would be concerned for family, friends and colleagues. "At a time of heightened uncertainty, our priority is to ensure those who may be affected have access to clear, reliable information," he said.
He said anyone who was considering travelling to the region, or had close connections there, was encouraged to consult the updates on the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) website.
The States of Guernsey has also offered advice to islanders.
'Seek support'
He added the Government of Jersey would continue to monitor events closely through established channels and remain in regular contact with UK authorities.
It would provide further updates or support for islanders if it became necessary.
"We recognise events of this nature are distressing. Islanders who are worried or directly affected are encouraged to seek support and make use of available services," he added.
"Our thoughts remain with all those impacted, and we will continue to keep the situation under close review."
The States of Guernsey said: "In light of ongoing missile strikes in Iran and the neighbouring regions, islanders who are in the Middle East, or have friends and relatives there, are strongly advised to follow guidance issued by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO): Foreign travel advice."
"This includes recommendations for those in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and UAE to shelter in a secure location and comply with instructions until further notice from those authorities."
It added British nationals could also register their presence in affected countries with the FCDO and nationals of other countries should consult and follow advice provided by their respective governments.
