Bin pushed against house and set alight in suspected arson
PA MediaPolice are appealing for information following a reported arson attack at a house in Londonderry.
It happened at about 19:30 GMT at a house on Ballymagowan Gardens on Friday.
A wheelie bin had been pushed against the property and set alight but no one was inside during the incident, police said.
Two appliances from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended and firefighters used breathing apparatus to deal with the fire at the ground floor entrance.
The house and adjoining properties were made safe and crews left at 22:00.
The Police Service for Northern Ireland (PSNI) said enquiries are "continuing to establish the circumstances" and have asked anyone with any information to contact them.
