A man has been charged after he was arrested by armed officers in Hull.

Humberside Police executed a warrant at a house on Beverley Road on Thursday after a man allegedly barricaded himself inside to evade arrest.

Anthony Allison, 44, of Beverley Road, has been charged with possession of a Class B drug and obstructing police.

He remains in custody and is due to appear at Hull Magistrates' Court at a later date.

Beverley Road was closed at about 23:30 GMT on Thursday and into Friday morning between the junctions for De Grey Street and Queens Road due to the incident.
